In the Flow with Healing Waters

AWARENESS
____________________________________________________________________________
A few weeks ago, a letter showed up at our cabin. It was a letter about lake awareness. Because it talked about awareness, which is right up my alley, I took a closer look.
It talked about how wake boats, large pontoons and bass boats were producing larger wakes and also churning up the lake bottom. It also talked about being aware of other boaters, playing music at an appropriate level, and operating in deeper water.
This made me start thinking…this letter was trying to encourage awareness from the outside to those boaters who don’t have that awareness on the inside around these particular topics.
Outside can influence the inside for sure, but not always. People will hear what they want when they are ready. Or people will be open to hear when they want or are ready for change.
Awareness can happen on the inside as well. This is very powerful when it comes from the inside. Have you ever had a situation occur when you acted in a way that you’re not proud of? Or wish you could do it over? That is awareness from the inside of you. Typically we wish for a do-over.
When that happens and you have feelings of regret, I will tell clients to take ownership, encourage them to not ruminate about the situation and move forward from “what happened.” Most likely, you will get another chance to react how you want to react because you had that ah-ha or awareness. This is growth.
It’s that easy. When you are aware, you tune into yourself and come from within which is being authentic to the true you.
Imagine this world if everyone was aware of themselves and others? What if people were aware that others may have different beliefs and perceptions and that it’s OK? What if people increased their awareness of themselves and just strived to be the best version of themselves? Our world would be different and peaceful.
I believe this change is happening. I believe we are in a time where the people in this world are becoming aware of all kinds of things. We can’t wait for everyone in this world to be aware. Each of us can begin or continue everyday. Just by reading this blog, you are most likely more aware now than you were at the beginning. Allow the awareness to come from both your outside and inside. Remember, awareness is a key to wellness.
