In the Flow with Healing Waters
The L in OLGA- “LOVING”
Try this……love each moment, love life, love yourself.
Loving is more than loving others, it includes loving oneself.
Do you give and think of others prior to giving, caring, and loving yourself?
Do your children, parents, spouse, friends, or work often come before your needs, wants and desires?
You love all of them for sure, and you will do anything for them.
What you haven’t been told or understand is that you must care for yourself before you can take care of everyone else.
When flying, the flight attendant says, “In case of emergency and the oxygen mask comes down, put your mask on before assisting others.”
Why do they say this?…..
Because if you do not take care of yourself, you are not much good for others. You’re not able to help others when you are dead.
This is also true in life; you must love and take care of you before you take care of others. It is difficult to care for others if you are injured, ill, depressed, or have anxiety.
It is much easier if you are full of life, love, joy, and happiness.
Why?
Because your personal emotional bucket holds the content that you can give to others. If it is depleted and empty, you can only give that which you have stored in it. If you are full of and feeling shame, guilt, frustration, there is nothing positive to pull from. You can only share what you have saved in your bucket.
Look at how you are; sad, lonely, angry, worried, happy, joyful, blissful?
How you are matters, it is the indicator of the emotion you share with everyone.
If you are filled with Joy, you give joy – If you are filled with anger, you give anger, it is this simple.
The things you can do for yourself, it is endless and can be very simple:
- Listen to music – sway, dance or sing with the music
- Soak in a bubble bath
- Feel the movement of your body.
- Go for a walk-in nature
- Watch a child play
- Do a creative project.
- Find and enjoy a hobby.
- Play music, sports, play with others, find fun when fun finds you. Jump in and play.
- Play with children.
- Be carefree.
- Don’t take yourself too seriously.
- Live from your heart and not from your head.
Close your eyes and absorb yourself in this present moment and notice what you are feeling. Pause, feel your breath, and notice how it changes you.
Feel your body relax when you actually take the time to pause and feel your breath. Find your happiness and enjoy it for that moment.
