In the Flow with Healing Waters
The A in OLGA- “Allowing”
To admit; concede; to make allowance or abatement, to permit; accept, grant permission.
When we attempt to control a situation, we try to make things happen by force.
This describes the opposite of allowing.
For me, OLGA’s allow is more about softening, accepting, letting go, lessening, and surrendering.
This is a big lesson for me. I am becoming increasingly aware of how I am when someone isn’t doing something the way I think it should be done.
I am reviewing my opinions, attitudes, judgements, and perception at that exact moment. I understand that this is simply how I have been, and I get to choose if it is a pattern I desire to keep or change.
There are times when I am not attached to the outcome. However, for those outcomes that I am attached to, it is difficult for me to simply allow.
I am beginning to understand that my patterns have run my life. I am now working on allowing, and in return, I experience inner peace.
I see that I have deep ingrained patterns that creep back in with the gentlest nudges. This is my opportunity for change to become the best version of me.
I am now aware of OLGA and I am learning to allow. It is very apparent how I am; I contract almost immediately when my patterns are present and I am becoming familiar with this feeling that I no longer desire.
Now, I get to choose to allow, or I get to keep my old opinion, attitude, judgement, and perception.
Are you interested in allowing?
If so, I encourage you to notice when you begin to close and contract, for instance, if a driver is not paying attention and cuts you off on the road. How are you, do you allow them space, or do you speed up? Do you want to let them know they just did you wrong, or do you allow the moment to just be?
Do you listen to someone if they have a different opinion than yours and do you allow it or do you try and change their mind, or get them to see your point of view, or do you simply allow it?
Here is an exercise you can practice consciously: let go and allow.
Create tension in your muscle, feel the tension, put your attention on the muscle and allow the muscle to relax and melt.
This brings awareness to how we hold and how we allow.
You get to choose how you are in each moment.
