Moving

I noticed that I have had a balance issue between work and my home life for quite some time. I have a lot going on at work which means I put in long hours. However, it is exciting to have a full schedule. I love my work and feel good about the number of people that are helped by coming to us.

Since my boys have gotten older, I find I have less to do at home. My boys were very involved in sports and now that 2 of them are out of high school, I have less games to go to. With less people in the house, there’s less cleaning, laundry, cooking, etc. Many people would love that feeling of having less to do. We all are in different seasons of life and I remember thinking that I’d never have time to relax after work, and now, I do. With that said, I have felt a restlessness and boredom that prevented itself time and time again over the last year or so.

Being aware of something and not knowing what to do about it can be frustrating for people. I didn’t want to clean my house more often, I didn’t want to do the laundry more often, I didn’t want to do extra things that I typically do for work at home. It was just a feeling of darkness, boredom and looking for something new. Even vacations weren’t really doing it for me when I would think about going somewhere. But then, everything changed.

My husband and I have been looking for houses for approximately 10 years. Two weeks ago this house came on the market and I was pulled to go look at it even before the pictures were up on the internet. I liked the location and I told my family I wanted to go look at it. When the pictures came on the website, we agreed that we wanted to see it but as we were looking at that particular house, my son mentioned another house that was for sale. He referenced it as “the blue house.” He wanted to go see that one so of course we all agreed and we set up showings for both houses on the same day. We looked at the first house and liked it, but once we saw “the blue house” we knew that this was our new home. The next day we put in an offer and we are moving in about three weeks!

What I have noticed now is that my energy has completely shifted. In the past when we would look at houses, we’d always come to the same conclusion; Do we have time to move? Do we have the energy to move? We’d talk ourselves out of it every time and just move on to the next thing. This time, there is energy behind our decision and that brings excitement. When there is energy behind doing something new, you feel unstoppable. You’re first step is your biggest stride in moving forward of what you want to change. Understanding that you may not like your current circumstances and what will it take to change it. Do you have a vision of what you want? What is your stopping point? Do you have all the information you need to make your decision?

I followed my gut. I encourage each of you to take a risk on something new in your life. Follow your gut of trying something by following your intuition. I thought the first house was going to be our new house but it was the second house. If I hadn’t followed my gut and looked at that first house, we would’ve never found the second house and fell in love. I trusted my gut from the beginning which led me to this whole new place of happiness.

Amongst all the chaos of that my current house looks like, the energy has changed. The heaviness of boredom is completely gone and it feels really good. So if you’re feeling stuck look at what’s around you. Are you following your heart? Are you trusting your gut? Explore it and visualize yourself making the change. Talk about it and make it happen.

Many fun things can happen in our life when we go with the flow. There will always be questions of, “Is it the perfect time?” or “Can we do this?” Pay attention to what your drawn to and what opportunities are knocking at your door. Those may be the most beautiful experiences in life.

New energy in the flow,
