In the Flow with Healing Waters
Are you too sensitive?
Have you ever been around someone who was upset, angry or worked up? Then you found yourself feeling not so great?
Someone in our AcuEnergetics® class was curious about this and asked about it. She said while at her job a patron was spewing out negative things. Afterwards, the student from class said she felt yucky. She was wondering what happened.
As we were discussing energy inside and outside of the body, we explained that energy can come from emotions from others because all emotions are energy. Higher vibration emotions feel lighter and feel really good. Negative emotions are a lower energy vibration, and they can feel heavy and yucky.
Maybe you are someone that feels a lot. You feel a lot from others, maybe you are even labeled as sensitive. Being sensitive isn’t a bad label. It’s good to feel. However if you are one that takes on others emotions, you may find yourself taking on what is not your own. Maybe you want to take others’ emotions/problems on to help those people feel better, or maybe you take them on so you keep the peace, or that you worry they can’t handle things, or maybe you are not even conscious that you are doing it. But you still feel bad after being around or talking with certain people.
You are not alone if you have these feelings. Question is, what do you do when this happens?
If you think of yourself as an hourglass and you have sand filling up from the bottom up…the more sand you have, the more stable you become in your mind and body.
The sand represents how much you fill yourself up. You can fill yourself up with fun things to do, connecting with people you like/love, you can do things for yourself, you can take time to learn, bake, cook, dance, move, exercise, play music, connect with nature, travel, whatever makes you feel happy and fills you up.
If you have a pretty full hourglass, you will probably notice you are not affected as much when negative people are around you. Maybe you don’t want to even engage with them, or you can easily change the negative perspective to a positive. Or maybe you can easily say things that you really feel vs holding back.
If you don’t have enough sand in your hourglass, the more you are affected by someone else’s energy. If you are constantly giving, and never filling yourself up, the more unstable you will be and will have a tendency to be affected by the outside people and world.
Next time you feel someone else’s “stuff” shake it off. Go inward, breathe, smile, and just send that person love, because they probably need it.
