In the Flow with Healing Waters
Anxiety is typically considered a negative emotion. No one likes to feel anxious about situations because then we are not in control of our emotions. It just shows up whenever it wants to and seems to have a mind of its own.
Anxiety can range from minimal to full out panic attacks. It can cause nervous behaviors such as pacing, body symptoms, and rumination. It can often come with muscle tension, restlessness, fatigue and problems with concentration.
Growing up I suffered from anxiety. I would have difficult times when I would go out to new places and my anxiety would crescendo. Especially when I would have to get up in front of class and heaven forbid, give a speech!
You could say I had anxiety for about 40 years. I tried to limit what made me anxious, so oftentimes I would stay home as trying new things would make me very uncomfortable. I often would just remain quiet and listen to people around me because then the conversation was not focused on me.
It wasn’t until I had children that my anxiety peaked at its highest. I had 3 little boys under the age of 5 and felt totally out of control. On the outside, I would watch my 4 and 5 year olds run around doing kid things, but inside I would constantly be worried about their safety. I would be constantly telling them to do this, or do that…I would try to control and prevent all their sudden moves. It was exhausting!
Anxiety is exhausting!
I went to have a check up at my doctor and she prescribed medication for my anxiety. I took that prescription home and vowed to myself I would understand what anxiety really is.
When I started learning about energy in the body and mind I started understanding and not trying to fight or ignore my anxiety.
When someone has anxiety it can present in a few different ways. Some people have stomach aches, headaches, and worry a lot. Other people may have heart palpitations, high blood pressure, and panic attacks. Others may be more in a state of fright/ flight /fight/ freeze often and can be very restless inside their bodies.
However a person presents in symptoms, it signifies there is a flow problem in the body. More often when someone has anxiety who is in a constant state of worry, there is not enough electrical flow through the stomach/spleen system. Heart palpitations/panic attacks, the flow issue is more in the heart. Restlessness is a lot of times combined with low back pain is a flow issue with the kidneys.
That is why anxiety is so confusing to treat in the western medicine model, because it shows up differently in different people. Typically it is medicine that is prescribed.
Healing Waters understands anxiety is a bio-electrical flow problem. We look at the system most affected and we restore that electrical flow and that restores the function.
When I began to understand my anxiety as congested energy, shifting it and learning to meditate, my life changed and I was more empowered. Do I still get nervous? Sure…when I start teaching a large class I can still get butterflies in my stomach. However, I know what that is now and I just breath, get present, and move through it.
If you or someone you know is dealing with anxiety, give us a call. We have tools to educate and move energy so your life can come into a peaceful, happy and healthy place.
